Born in Belgrade in 1978, I educated myself in the same city, eventually (in 1996) ending up at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Belgrade. The same institution deemed appropriate to grant me a Diploma (B. Sc. equivalent) four years later. On Christmas Day 2000, I got on a Boeing jet at the Budapest airport and flew all the way to San Francisco. Once there, I took a bus to Berkeley and just 50-something months later became a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry (under the supervision of Peter Vollhardt). In October 2005, I started a postdoctoral appointment with the Stoddart group at the University of California at Los Angeles.
I find joy in music, Argentine tango, beer, cheese, short stories (in particular those of Borges, A. Tolstoy, Turgenyev), theater, and cinema, and in other things that resist classification. My ethnic and religious sentiments are quite weak.
