West Covina

I have worked at the University of California, Los Angeles for a little over eight years. I was promoted from the Jules Stein Eye Institute to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as an Administrative Specialist to Professor Stoddart in May of 2000. I provide support in all areas related to Professor Stoddart’s professional activities (i.e., research, teaching, and administration). I also provide support and administrative guidance to all of the postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students, and visiting researchers that pass through the Stoddart group.

In 1998, I started my own business (Oliver Accuscript Inc.) assisting physicians in their billing process. I converted the business into a corporation in 2002. The business has been extremely successful consisting of over 25 clients/physicians in the Los Angeles area and employs three home-based part-time employees.

My husband and I also started an electrical business in 2005 (Oliver Electric & Integrated Systems Inc.).

In June 2004, my husband and I had our first child, Leah Oliver, who was born premature, weighing just 1 pound 6 ounces. She spent the first four months of her life in the hospital fighting for her life. I am an advocate for the March of Dimes and help to raise money for research and bring awareness to premature births.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending every minute of it with my husband and daughter. I also love weight-lifting and Tai Chi. My husband and I don't get a chance to do it as much as we used to but we enjoy the Hollywood nightlife and dancing. Our favorite place by far would have to be The Garden of Eden.
